Tiger Woods Briefly Arrested and Charged With Driving Under the Influence | Firstpost

Florida police briefly arrested legendary golfer Tiger Woods following a rollover crash near his home. Authorities charged the 15-time major champion with driving under the influence after his vehicle reportedly attempted to overtake a truck, clipped a trailer, and rolled over.
According to police, Woods showed signs of impairment at the scene. Officials stated that while he was not believed to be under the influence of alcohol, he may have been affected by medication or drugs. Woods cooperated with a breathalyser test but refused to undergo a urinalysis, which could lead to additional charges under Florida law.
Despite the severity of the crash, Woods escaped without injury. He was detained at the county jail for approximately eight hours, and his booking photo showed him red-eyed with a stubbly chin.
US President Donald Trump expressed sympathy, calling Woods a close friend and an “amazing person,” while acknowledging he may be facing difficulties.
This incident also brings back memories of Woods’ 2017 arrest for DUI, when he was found asleep at the wheel of his damaged car.
