Iraq War: Operation Dolphin
Maj Danny Sjursen describes Operation Dolphin, which took place in Iraq on January 25, 2007. Sjursen and his unit were ordered to drive to an Iraqi police station for a 'meet and greet,' an operation that could easily have happened during the day. Instead Sjursen and his men were sent at night, on very dangerous streets. Shortly after leaving their base, the lead vehicle was hit by an EFP, an explosively formed projectile. Two of Sjursen's men were killed and two injured. WARNING: graphic description of EFP carnage.
