"Keep on the Sunny Side" - Marsh Family kitchen adaptation for Children's Mental Health Week

This is our late evening acapella stab at the lovely and catchy American campfire tune, written in 1899 by Canadian-born hymnist Ada Blenkhorn and J. Howard Entwisle. We've lightly adapted the last two lines, because we're singing this in support of the Children's Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK, spearheaded by the wonderful charity organisation @_Place2Be.

We stuck with the take that the dogs disrupted, because part of the theme this year is emotional connections, and as our subscribers know, our dogs Montezuma and Boudicca generate plenty of emotional responses from us all in different ways. On reflection, Boo was probably hoping some food was going to be knocked off the table by our cup percussion ... but she does quite frequently just decide it's time for a cuddle, especially if someone is excessively happy or excessively sad.

Do let us know your favourite versions of the track - it's not impossible that we might return to it one day, and try to do it justice with proper microphones etc. - but our favourite anecdote about it is that the phrase actually came from Blenkhorn's nephew, who always wanted his wheelchair pushed down "the sunny side" of the street.
