Here's the next episode of Chordplay with the Chords of Metallica.

They're a world-famous and legendary metal group that virtually shaped the sound of thrash metal in their early days and created a more polished and mature sound with every album they've released since Kill 'em All.

This lesson takes a direct look at how they shape their chords and where some of their mutant chords originate from and features a number of famous and familiar Metallica riffs and songs. This added section to this lesson reveals where some of Hetfield's inverted (or "backward") power chords come from and how you can locate and utilize these sounds in your own music.
