Why Visit SICILY, Italy - What To Do in Sicily. I’m Rok and I’ve spent last 8 years travelling around Europe as a tour guide and I want to show you best things to do in Sicily. I made this Sicily travel guide to show you what to do on Sicily and to show you best Sicily Attractions.
Palermo Sicily is the heart of Norman history and culture. Greeks, Romans and Normas left unimaginable wealth, art and architecture on his island. Palermo is the capital and served as the seat of Norman kingdom with Norman palace, amazing churches, UNESCO world heritage sites and lively Italian squares and streets.
Taormina is one of the most charming towns on Sicily. It sits under volcano Mount Etna, perched on a cliff overlooking the Sea and commands an impressive view. Besides the ancient Greek theatre, it has many old churches, lively bars, fine restaurants and antique shops. It is one of Sicily's most popular summer destinations and chic resort town popular with holidaying high-rollers.
Monreale is a hill above Palermo with amazing Norman-Byzantine cathedral from 12th century.
Erice is amazing town with Greek ruins and Norman castle on the top of the mountain overlooking the Sea.
Trapani Sicily is where they have been producing salt for more than 5.000 years.
Agrigento and its Valley of the Temples are attracting visitors with one of the most outstanding examples of Ancient Greek temples in the world.
Villa Romana del Casale is a large Roman villa with one of the richest and largest collections of Roman mosaics in the world.
Noto is a town and another UNESCO site, considered to be a masterpiece of Sicilian Baroque.
Syracuse is rich with Greek and Roman history, culture, amphitheatres, architecture, and is the birthplace of Greek mathematician and engineer Archimedes. This 2,700-year-old city played a key role in ancient times, when it was one of the major powers of the Mediterranean world.
Cefalu is a picturesque historic town on a rocky headland, famous for its Sandy beaches and amazing Norman cathedral.
