Gibson Les Paul 1958 Reissue vs Gibson Les Paul '50s Standard Hand Select

These two have a lot in common but also have a lot of differences. And I wasn't really sure how much those differences made until I started into filming this video.
The R8 comes in wearing BurstBucker2 pickups in the neck and bridge positions. They are almost identically matched, with the neck reading 8.0K and the bridge reading 8.02K. These pickups have a sound to them that are perfect for playing almost anything. And the VOS aging the Custom Shop did on this one is pretty spot on, albeit adding black plastics and aged Grover tuners.
The '50s Standard comes in wearing a gorgeous Cherry Sunburst finish over a hand selected figured maple top. It's got a 61R neck pickup and a BurstBucker2 bridge pickup and sounds pretty awesome no matter what you're style of music is.
But which one would you pick up and why? Talk about it in the comments.

Enjoy!
