Straight Leg Raise Test

Goal
Can you hinge at the hips? Together? Individual legs?
Can you touch your toes?
Can you actively engage your core?

Scoring Criteria (Only for single leg test)
0= Foot does not reach knee without resting foot articulation with pain
1= Foot does not reach knee without resting foot articulation w/o pain
2=Foot reaches between knee and midpoint up thigh before articulation
3=Foot reaches between midpoint on thigh and hip prominence before articulation

Test
Lay flat on your back with your hand at your sides and your feet touching together, toes pointed straight up. (Like a dead body in a coffin).
SLOWLY: With straight legs and feet together raise both legs off of the ground as high as you can without extending through your low back
Repeat 3 times.
Keeping the left leg straight and your toes pointing straight up raise your right leg straight up as high as possible. Stop as soon as your left foot starts to twist out.
Repeat 3 times.
Switch legs and repeat test.
Finally, stand up and with straight legs perform a toe touch hamstring test.

How to film
Needed: Camera, clean floor
Camera angle: Straight on from the side. Spin around when you switch sides. So that the moving leg is further from the camera
