Two-Five-One Chord Progressions for Guitar

In this video you will learn how to to play a 2-5-1 chord progression on the guitar. You will learn how to play 2-5-1 chord progression in the keys of C Major and A minor.

The "2-5-1" refers to chords that are built on those numbered scale degrees. In the key of C Major, the "2" is a D minor seventh chord, built on the 2nd scale degree, which is D. The "5" is a G thirteenth chord built on the 5th scale degree, G. And the "1" is a C Major Seventh chord built on the 1st scale degree, C.

This chord progression is the foundation of many tunes (most notably "Autumn Leaves") and also sounds great as an accompaniment for improvising.
