BWV 1012 Sarabande

The Sarabande from Cello Suite No.6 by J.S. Bach is a particularly nice slow movement, and besides being performed on the cello, there have been transcriptions made on a variety of instruments. This video features my transcription for classical guitar.

The 6th Cello Suite was written for an instrument called the "viola pomposa," which was sort of like a cross between a viola and a modern cello. It was pitched higher than a cello and had 5 strings. The music that Bach wrote for the 6th Cello Suite works very well on the guitar, that combined with the fact that the music itself is so good is why lots of guitarists play this suite.
