How To Make Homemade Pie, From Scratch! It's Easy!
Hey there, happy Tuesday! Today we are making pie, & I'm going to teach you how. This video includes recipes for pie fillings, & homemade crust, as well as a step by step guide to making pie.

Pie Filling Recipe
4 Cups Berries (Cherries, blueberries, raspberries)
2 Cups water
Bring to a boil in a medium saucepan
Add 1 Cup Sugar & 1 teaspoon lemon Juice
Thicken with Clear Jel or Cornstarch, whichever you prefer.
Apple Pie Filling Recipe
Peel & Slice 4-6 Apples (I use Gala, but any baking apple will work just as good!) Add 1 Cup of water & 1/2 to 3/4 cup of sugar, depending on the sweetness of the apples. Bring to a boil in a saucepan. Cook just a couple of minutes until apple are just soft, but not mushy. Dissolve 3 tablespoons of Clear Jel or Corn starch in 1/3 cup water and add to apple, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in:
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Ground Allspice
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 table spoon margarine or butter
Pour into an unbaked 9 inch pie crust. Cover with another pie crust and bake at 350 for 25 minutes. If it's not completely done at 25 minutes, bake for 5 minute intervals until done.
Pie Crust recipe
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon salt
Combine.
Add heaping 3/4 cup of Shortening
Combine using a Pastry Blender until crumbly.
Add 7-9 Tablespoons of ice cold water. ( very important that its ice cold water) combine with a fork until dough forms.
Sprinkle counter top with flour and roll!
Bake a filled, 2 crust (top and bottom crust) pie at 360 degrees for 40 minutes. Bake an empty pie shell at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Remember if you are baking an empty pie shell, use a fork to make tiny holes in the crust, otherwise it will fill with air and get puffy!
