World's Tallest Geyser Erupts Amidst a Storm's Rainbow in Yellowstone Park, Steamboat Geyser

Steamboat Geyser erupted in Yellowstone National Park today, September 18th, 2022. The most recent eruption took place on June 20th of 2022, and until recent decades, nearly fifty years passed without eruptions. In recent years it has been an active geyser erupting as much or more than 200 feet into the air. Viewing the eruption from meadows west of Norris Geyser Basin, where Steamboat Geyser exists, a passing storm was followed by a rainbow minutes after the eruption began, wavering in the steam similar in appearnace to the Aurora Borealis of the Polar night skies.
