Yellowstone Gray Wolf Plays Like a Puppy in the Yellowstone River

An immobile bison on the hills east of the Yellowstone River in Hayden Valley has attracted five wolves. They are circling around and resting nearby on August 20th, 2022. Bison Rut is active and it is possible a bison was injured fighting another bull while pursuing a cow for breeding and as opportunitists the wolves may be hoping for an eventual meal. Within minutes of the wolf leaving the river a coyote came in and marked the water, then followed the wolf at a distance.
