Located on the Costa Blanca, between Benidorm and Elche, in the south-east of Spain, Alicante is the capital of a province with the same name. Alicante is the second largest city in the Valencia Region with a population of about 350,000 with an estimated 18% of foreign residents, primarily from northern Europe.
