湘菜,作为中国传统的八大菜系之一,因其刺激性口味给人们留下了深刻印象。湖湘饮食文化源远流长,从2000年前长沙马王堆出土的菜品原料到红遍天下的"剁椒鱼头",都可以看到一个"辣"字贯穿始终。湖南地处洞庭湖之南,三面环山,北面是水,冬天阴冷潮湿,夏天闷热难当。16世纪湖南人与传入中国的辣椒相见恨晚,用辣椒祛湿驱寒,并将辣椒发展成不可或缺的美味。

  本期节目将通过湘菜中的"辣"去讲述湘菜不仅包罗万象而且美轮美奂,同时展现着湖南人的文化和性格。
