SpaceX CSG-2 launch spotted from FDR State Park
This video was taken at Dowdell's Knob in FDR State Park, Georgia which is 385 miles northwest of the launch site (SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral). I honestly did not think this launch would be visible since it occurred exactly at sunset (18:11 local, 23:11 UTC). Surprisingly I was able to see the ascent, exhaust interaction between the booster and second stage, firing of the cold gas thrusters on the booster, and the entry burn. The viewing perspective from Dowdell's Knob has one looking nearly straight down the launch and reentry corridors.
I have tagged the altitude and distance with the pre-flight telemetry data from https://flightclub.io/. The graphic in the upper left is also from that site. If you watch the booster distance data you can clearly see the effects of the boost back burn.
