NWS Atlanta weather balloon burst 27 June 2023
The balloon burst south of Thomaston GA at an altitude of 111,660 feet (34,034 meters). This was recorded with a Canon R6 attached to an 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with a 3x barlow lens and manually tracked with a ZWO AM5 mount. Distance to the balloon was 38 miles (61 km).
