This video shows you how to make a yoga mat spray with essential oils. Essential oils make a great yoga mat spray! There are so many with antimicrobial properties, so it won't be hard to find the right oils to clean your yoga mat naturally, without harsh chemicals. I'm using Lavender and Tea Tree essential oils in this recipe.
This all natural yoga mat spray recipe makes 1 oz (30 ml), but you can adjust it to make however much you like. Just remember to use 20 drops of essential oil for every 1 oz (30 ml) of water. I recommend using a dark glass bottle, because light can speed up oxidation and shorten the shelf life of your spray.
1 oz (30 ml) water (0:34)
10 drops Lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia) (0:46)
10 drops Tea Tree essential oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) (1:08)
If you use your yoga mat spray after your practice, you should still smell a hint of aroma the next time you unroll your mat.
