Entry Level Tripods - A Beginners Guide and Review

NEW: follow me on instagram - https://www.instagram.com/realworldpicts/

After creating various videos using long exposures, I thought this would be a good time to review tripods. If you are new to the world of DSLRs and recently purchased an entry level camera (i.e. Nikon D3400, Canon T6i, etc.), you may soon consider getting your first tripod.

Tripods range in price and come with various features that may confuse some first time buyers. I attempt to break-down the various types of tripods along with how they work and possible pitfalls.

If you are looking for your first tripod, here are a few links to some I like and/or have used:

Joby DSLR Tripod (in video; currently runs about $50):

Amazon Basic Tripod (currently runs about $17; similar to my Velbon in the video - low cost but served me well over the years:)):
http://amzn.to/2nbUvlz

K&F Concepts: https://amzn.to/2VnGkeU

NEW - Zomei Z666 (in video; currently runs about $60):

Dolica (NOT in video but offers Aluminum build and ball head but does not convert to monopod - a slight cheaper alternative; uses lever locks; runs about $50):

Remember - if you are caught without a tripod and need to take a long exposure, use any nearby stable surface (i.e. top of your auto, fence post, tree stump, etc. - get creative:)). Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below and I will do my best to help!:)
