M L E S Late Summer Steam Up

The Milwaukee Light Engineering Society, Ltd. owns and maintains Railroad Park, a 1-1/2-inch scale railroad located in southern Wisconsin. Their late summer open event took place on an unusually hot and gusty August 9, 2009. Bob Calhoon's oil-fired Shay was the only live steamer operating that day, but a lot of other motive power was present and the railroad actually became quite busy. Watch for the scene with the runaway boxcar! Towards the end of the day, the rain god began to hurl lightning bolts from the sky, sending everyone scurrying.
