Vintage TEK 7603 main frame scope repair

This old Tektronix oscilloscope had not been used for about 20 years. Although it had been working when last used, a fault had developed. Expecting some capacitor issues it turned out to be a power supply regulator transistor problem. These old cathode ray oscilloscopes are now obsolete but they still have many followers that appreciate the engineering from a time where maintenance was considered in the design.
