Training my dog to leave the cat alone Part 1

A dog that is crazy about the cat is best manipulated by training an alternate behavior that he knows very well, instead of just trying to put negatives into the occasion. It actually gives the dog a behavior to do as an alternative to chasing the cat. The behavior should be so well trained without the cat in sight, that it can be reinforced relatively easy. The process should never be so negative that the dog does not except positive reinforcement anymore. Make sure that the situation is completely under control. The process should be advancing by very gradually increasing degree of difficulty. Avoid the dog being over stimulated and can't concentrate.
