Building My ALASKAN CABIN (Making The Interior Trim) - Wk 31

The days are starting to get longer now. Today we had 4 hours and 32 minutes between sunrise and sunset. Tomorrow we will gain 4 additional minutes. The temperature has been near 30 below zero for the past several days. The cabin is performing very well however, it is both warm and welcoming. I am working diligently on it and look forward to seeing the finished project.

This week I made all my interior trim. I ripped it all out of clear 1x4 pine and sanded it down. Afterward, I sanded out all the interior log walls. Finally, I vacuumed everything and wiped it all down with a damp cloth. Then I sprayed three coats of clear finish on log walls, ceiling and trim (sanding between coats). Lastly, before installing the trim I painted all the interior gypsum walls with two coats of latex paint.

I made a mistake in this week's video that I apologize for it in advance. I often listen to audio books in my ear buds while I work. This week I am listening to "The Count of Monte Cristo". I did not realize however, that the sensitive video mic on the camera was picking up the reader's voice. You will hear it occasionally, I hope it is not too distracting.

I appreciate all of you so much. Thanks for your friendship.

This is going to be a great year.
