A KITCHEN For My Alaskan Cabin - Wk 34
Good morning my friends. This has been a very busy week. I have made good progress on building the kitchen. I hope to have it finished by this weekend. I am impressed by how roomy this little cabin really is. It is only 385 square feet inside (including the small mechanical spaces). But the high ceiling and upper clerestory windows provide a wonderful, open feel when you step in the door, causing it to seem larger than it is.
The thumbnail photo was taken at 5:30 pm today. You can see how much daylight have now compared to a few short weeks ago. Even though I have lived here over half a century now, I still love this time time of year. These early spring days provide some spectacular winter camping opportunities. I hope to get up into the mountains soon and share some of that beauty with you.
Until then, I hope you enjoy this cabin series. We are almost finished.
Peace.
