MCT focuses on disorder specific cognitive biases such as mood congruent memory. If you are depressed, you are typically going to notice things that make you sad, angry or anxious. If you are happy, you are likely to notice the positive aspects of your situation.
People can have millions of automatic cognitive distortions. Addressing each one may not be possible.
