What you need to know about the OSIRIS-REx asteroid sample return

For the first time in agency history, NASA is bringing a sample of an asteroid back to Earth. About eight ounces of the asteroid, Bennu, are safely aboard a capsule on the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft, which will land in the Utah desert the morning of Sept. 24.

Before then, we caught up with some of the key figures at Lockheed Martin, who helped bring the project to life and will continue working with both the spacecraft and the sample after this piece of the mission ends.

We talk about the road to collecting the sample, how it will get back on Earth and the next chapter for this spacecraft, which will soon be renamed "OSIRIS-APEX."
