ACL Artist profile: Emlyn on Anxiety, Accountability, and Being a Baddie

@medicinalmediaorg partnered with the @HiHowAreYouProject backstage at #ACLFest 2023. The Hi, How Are You Project is an Austin, TX-based nonprofit organization with a mission to remove the stigma around mental health, one conversation at a time.

Hailing from Nashville, but now based in LA, songwriter/producer Emlyn is an alternative pop sensation. Emlyn sat down with us at ACL and had this conversation about mental health and music. In it, she freely shares how she's been seeing a therapist weekly for anxiety since age 11, which is also when she started writing music. Her new album, That's How You Make a Villain, is made up of three biographical chapters chronicling being bullied, experiencing heartbreak, and the process of becoming who she is today.
