It’s time for another episode of our new show Dos- the greatest duets of the rock era.. Last time we covered Almost Paradise by Ann Wilson of Heart and Mike Reno of Loverboy. Today we dive back into the 80s and break down the greatest metal duet of the 80s Close My Eyes Forever by the First Lady of Metal Lita Ford and the Originator of the genre Ozzy Osbourne. The song went to #8 and was written one fateful night in the late 80s when Lita and Ozzy were hanging out playing pool…

I can't give away the story, I’ll Let Lita Tell it. Just for reference though, in 1975, at just sixteen, Ford was recruited by recording to join the all-female rock band the Runaways, with a record contract, the band gained big media attention and the Runaways started their rise becoming a draw during their late-1970s heyday. Lita Ford's lead guitar playing was a monumental element of the band's sound until they broke up in 1979.

So in 1982, went solo signing with Mercury… Her debut solo album, Out for Blood dropped in 1983, but it was a commercial disappointment. Her next release, Dancing on the Edge was released in 1984 it was a small success and that’s when Lita started to come into her own… the song "Gotta Let Go", went to #1 on the Mainstream Rock charts.

From there Lita signed with RCA records and hired Sharon Osbourne Management to help here. She came out swinging with the 1988 smash album Lita which had two huge hits, the aforementioned Duet with Ozzie and the 80s rocker Kiss Me Deadly that went to #12.
