Levers of Engagement Worksheet
As a manager, you know that every person is unique, and what motivates one person may not motivate another. That's where the Levers of Engagement Worksheet comes in. This simple but powerful tool can help you tailor your approach to the unique needs of your team and colleagues.
The worksheet is based on Gallup's Q12 assessment, which identifies the 12 levers of engagement. The 12 levers are as follows:
1. Focus me
2. Equip me
3. Help me find my fit
4. Recognize a contribution, weekly
5. Care about me
6. Help me grow
7. Hear me
8. Help me see the impact of what WE do
9. Help me feel we're all held to equally high standards
10. I am encouraged to have vital relationships at work
11. Assess my progress and areas for growth every 6 months
12. Challenge me
These 12 levers can be overwhelming to manage for some managers. However, with the Levers of Engagement Worksheet, it's possible to focus on the most important ones.
The first step is to rank the 12 levers in order of importance to you.
The second step is to circle the top three or four levers you naturally focus on or provide.
The third step is determining which levers are most important to your team members. Identify where there are similarities and differences, if there are clusters in the group, and outliers.
The fourth step is to use the worksheet to guide conversations that focus on people's strengths, what engages them, and what drains them.
These conversations can help you better understand your team members and tailor your approach to their unique needs.
By using the Levers of Engagement Worksheet, you can become a more effective manager who understands the unique needs of each team member.
Please let me know your feedback on this tool, as I believe it can make a big difference in your team's engagement and productivity.
