History Chats: Helen Ohm [12.10.2020]

Join us for a mid-day discussion with the History Chats series. Recently we've been talking each week about a 'person you should know' from Marathon County history.

For the broadcast on December 10th, archivist Ben Clark shared some of the history of Helen Ohm, the first Alderwoman in Marathon County (and likely in all of Wisconsin). She was elected to the Wausau City Council in 1922, which was just one of many examples of her pioneering spirit as an elected official and community leadership.

We go live with History Chats every Thursday at 12:30.

Presented by the Marathon County Historical Society, in cooperation with our friends at the Marathon County Public Library. We are also able to put these on thanks to our generous corporate sponsors Compass Properties and Janke Book Store, and from MCHS members. Thanks to all of them for their support.
