Joni James - You're My Everything (1953)
Charted at #24 on the Cash Box singles chart in January 1954. Original Billboard review: "Joni James probably has another hit on her hands with this lovely reading of the oldie. Side is from the thrush's new album of the same title, and it is a fine single disk. The Lew Douglas ork backs her beautifully. Should rack up sales and plays." Billboard rating: 87 out of 100.
Written in 1931, this song originally charted at #10 for the Arden-Ohman Orchestra in 1931 and #12 for Russ Columbo in 1932. It also charted at #35 for Max Bygraves on the UK Singles chart in February 1969.
Note: Although the Billboard reviewer states that "You're My Everything" is also the name of the album this single was culled from, the actual name of the album is "Let There Be Love" as pictured.
Released as a single in December 1953.
Written by Mort Dixon, Harry Warren and Joe Young.
B-side is "You're Nearer".
