Hey folks, a little afterword here. The whole script for this video and the recording of said script was done like 6 months ago, which may explain why my voice sounds a little different. In the end this video did not take very much time to make, I just procrastinated a ton between recording and editing. After editing it together, there were a few things I wanted to address in a little more detail but I figured I’d just talk about them here rather than staple on a directionless ramble portion onto the end of this video; some of these are more disclaimers than anything else.

One thing I think I didn’t really address properly is that in a lot of these situations, the infinite pickups you’ll be generating are merely a huge asset and not necessarily a guarantee that the game will get completely busted all to hell; it’s perfectly possible that even with infinite coins from the IV Bag+Isaac’s Heart combo, you’ll never come upon the Restock item and thus won’t be able to get infinite pedestal items, which is 90% of the time the eventual goal. Incidentally, greed mode is so much easier for game breaking generally simply because it has Restock by default, but what I’m trying to get across is that you’re never 100% guaranteed a game break unless you outright cheat with the starting item replacer, or console commands. It is to some degree random, and all this info does is just significantly increase the likelihood of you lucking into one and being able to take advantage of it properly. And hey, nothing wrong with cheating here too! Experimenting with all sorts of item combinations kind of turns this game into Scribblenauts and is fun in its own right.

I also didn’t really go into broken damage combinations like Tammy’s Head+Brimstone, or combat exploits like using Gnawed Leaf to beat Hush using only your familiars… those are fun and cool and all that but they’re not really “game breaking” in my opinion.

One more thing about doubling items; only certain pedestal items actually stack their effects when cloned. For instance, you can’t get exponentially increasing uses of spacebar items with like 10 Car Batteries, but you can stack any item that multiplies your shots, like The Wiz, 20/20, The Inner Eye, and Mutant Spider. It varies a lot from case to case so don’t be too disappointed if something truly broken ends up not working because a certain item didn’t stack on itself.

You can mix and match all these game breaking concepts, for instance if you have the Placebo/48-hour-energy break as well as an Explosive Diarrhea pill or a gold bomb, and you get Pyromaniac or Glitter Bombs, you could use some or all of those pieces to generate yourself some theoretically infinite pickups. One of the wonders of this game is that the sheer complexity of it offers nearly endless combinations and situations, so take these concepts and use your imagination to get even more convoluted shit going. Trust me, I could have gone on a LOT longer going into the minutia of some of these situations, but I didn’t want this video to drag on forever.

Some time fairly soon in the future, this video will become outdated as Repentance will most likely come out later in the year. I’m sure that will add some exciting new tools for breaking, and I plan to stream it, and who knows, maybe I’ll make a follow-up to this video outlining Repentance-specific game breaking; I can’t guarantee that, though.

I don’t normally say stuff like this, but post some of your personal favorite combinations in the comments! I’m certain I didn’t even cover everything I personally know in this video, and I’m curious to see what sort of things I didn’t even know about at all. I’ve talked long enough so now I’ll take my leave.
