Pong Pong Never Die

There's a bit of debate over what qualifies as the world's first video game, as Tennis For Two is actually predated by a patent that was filed for a device called the cathode-ray tube amusement device, which never actually got made. Call it a bit of personal bias, but I think that *actually* existing is a pretty crucial step to being considered a video game, so in my mind the award goes to Tennis For Two. (by the way, look up a picture of the machine that plays TFT. it takes up an entire room and the screen is the size of a salad plate.)

The Wikipedia page for "Early history of video games" has more notable devices made around the same time, they're quite interesting to read about if you're so inclined. There's even a bit of Tic-Tac-Toe lore in there, which is related to something we talked about in the video!
