Was the story that Diane Carpenter emphasized when she participated in a Storytelling Roundtable in Bethel Alaska sponsored and video recorded by the University of Alaska (UAA) Project Jukebox in FY1996. With permission to post on Facebook from UAA I edited this video.

Those that purchased Diane’s new book “𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙎𝙣𝙤𝙬” and do not know Diane, this video will definitely make one feel personal and have more visualization into the Bethel stories Diane writes about.

Some present in the audience of this video are Chris Cooke, Buck Bukowski, Kevin and Susan Murphy, and George Hohman (in order) as they listen & laugh with Diane about the practical jokes that the 1960’s locals such as Georgie Chaney, Howard Elliot, Jimmy Hoffman and Ray Miller including her husband Bob played on her. Also at the end are included 1960 vintage close up photos of Bethel Alaska to provide insight of the era she lived in; the 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙊𝙡𝙙 𝘿𝙖𝙮𝙨, now long gone.
