I used to jump from designing the schematic to PCB layout immediately. But there are some common missing steps in between these two steps. We will cover how to select the Manufacturer Part Number, read the datasheet for the order code, chose the footprint, or even consider the mechanical design and go through ordering the parts, price, and lead time. Taking time to consider these intermediary steps will save us time in the future when we eventually get the PCB manufactured in our hands.
