I've been using these techniques to help all kinds of people with mild to severe anxiety and it follows a very important path.
If you have severe anxiety, you've come to the right place! And don't forget that there are three important steps before you get to this video.
Distraction techniques are most effective when you've already worked through 1) Calming Your Body, 2) Accepting Anxiety, and 3) Logic Techniques. Distraction techniques will help you when you have pinpointed the source of your anxiety and you need something to help you move from inwardly focusing to becoming aware of your surrounding and helping your body relax.
