The Top 5 Star Wars Super Weapons that made the Death Star look like a Toy

Star Wars is known for it's crazy super weapons, with the Death Star being one of the most iconic designs in all of Sci-Fi. On screen we have seen the death star 1 and 2 as well as the super hyped up death star, Star Killer Base in the new trilogy. When exploring legend, we find that these were not the first super weapons in the galaxy and were not even close to being the most powerful. This video will explore some of the most deadly super weapons ever created from both canon and legends material.

The Malachor super weapon was powered by a giant kyber crystal, similar to the ones that would later be used in the Death Star.
Thousands of years before the Galactic Republic fell to Palpatine's machinations, the Jedi and the Sith fought for control over the galaxy. One devastating battle took place on the planet Malachor. Launching an assault on a Sith temple, Jedi forces hoped to topple a powerful Sith witch, tipping the balance of the conflict away from the dark side of the Force.
However, the Jedi didn't know that the temple wasn't just a place of worship but was also a superweapon. During the fight, the weapon was activated, turning every single person inside the temple to stone. Both Jedi and Sith alike were affected. No one was spared.

The event came to be known as the Great Scourge of Malachor, and became famous as a cautionary tale for young Jedi-in-training as well as the source of Darth Maul's hatred against the Jedi.

Another interesting superweapon that had almost unlimited destructive power were the world devestators. These ships were armed with enormous tractor beams that would ravage the surface of a planet, using the material that it had gathered to create an army of star ships and droids. The world devastator could also be programmed to use the material to upgrade itself, making it more destructive the longer it was left unchecked. Given sufficient time, these planet eaters could even manufacture more copies of itself. These were used by a reborn Palpatine in legends continuity and were fortunately destroyed by the New Republic before they could destroy even one planet. Although these warships could be operated without sentients on board, Palpatine ensured there was always someone there to activate the kill switch if needed. He realised that if the central droid brain had malfunctioned, these weapons would have multiplied much like bacteria, exponentially dividing and upgrading themselves until all of the galaxy's resources had been consumed, therefore making this superweapon one of the most potentially destructive on this list.

The star forge was created over 30,000 years before the battle of Yavin by the Rakatan infinite empire. Collecting matter and energy from a star using the dark side of the force, the star forge could create an unlimited army of starships, droids and weaponry. This artifact was used by the Rakatans, a dark side using species active 5000 years before the creation of the Galactic republic, to carve out an empire.

The star forge was, however, a double edged sword. Whilst it was an exceptionally useful tool to conquer the galaxy with, it began to feed off the Rakatans darkside desire for domination. Over the course of thousands of years the star forge corrupted the Rakata until in 25,200 BBY, the Rakatan infinite empire erupted into civil war, ultimately destroying them.

After thousands of years of feeding off the Rakatan dark side users, the station had become semi sentient and was able to repair itself using residual dark side energy, allowing it to exist for thousands of years without any maintenance.

When the station came into the possession of Darth Malak, it was shown to be able to heal the user of the forge. By placing captured Jedi in a lifeless state, the star forge would feed off their force energy and channel their power into the individual controlling it, in this case Darth Malak. Not exactly a super weapon ability but I thought it was a cool bit of trivia that doesn't really get mentioned often when talking about the star forge.
