Perú incauta tres toneladas de cocaína en el Pacífico cerca de Ecuador

La policía peruana presentó el martes más de tres toneladas de cocaína incautadas hace una semana en dos embarcaciones frente al mar peruano, cerca de una zona fronteriza con Ecuador, que presuntamente tenían como destino final Estados Unidos.
 
La Marinade Guerra y la Policía Nacional participaron en la llamada "Operación Ballena”.
 
SONIDO (español) General José Ludeña, director antidrogas de la Policía Nacional del Perú:
“Hemos logrado decomisar un peso bruto de de alcaloide de cocaína y 3 055 kg, que en el mercado norteamericano supera los 90 millones de dólares, precio que se eleva  si esta mercancía llega a Europa o en su defecto a Asia”.
 
SOUNDBITE (español): Dina Boluarte, presidenta peruana:
"Estamos detrás de ustedes y seguiremos trabajando y dando todo el apoyo a nuestras Fuerzas Armadas y a la Policía Nacional, en cuanto a logística y todo lo que ellos necesitan, para poder enfrentar de manera firme y decidida en esta lucha frontal contra el narcotráfico."
 
En las operaciones se detuvo en total a cinco ciudadanos ecuatorianos y un colombiano.
 
Perú es el segundo cultivador mundial de hoja de coca, según Naciones Unidas. Es también el segundo productor mundial de cocaína, según la agencia antidrogas estadounidense DEA. Produce entre 700 y 800 toneladas de cocaína por año, mientras  sus incautaciones apenas superan el 10%, según estadísticas oficiales.
Según expertos, la droga peruana tiene como destino final Europa, luego Estados Unidos. La cocaína se fabrica en diversas partes de la Amazonía, incluidas las fronteras con Colombia y Brasil. Desde esas zonas remotas, los narcotraficantes las envían en avionetas, también vía marítima desde diversos puertos del Pacífico.
