Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment (STAVE) – Littoral Combat Ship (LCS)

Originally released in January 2020, this video highlights our amazing LCS Training Facilities (LTFs), located in Mayport, Fla. and San Diego.

STAVE LCS is a networked virtual training environment coupled with Part Task Trainers (PTT) and Virtual Operations Trainers (VOTs) that provides the ability to visualize, communicate, and simulate system operations for individual watchstander and watchteam training events. STAVE LCS also contains a multi-purpose multi-media display component, consisting of Virtual Reality Labs (VRLs) which are designed to support the Immersive Virtual Ship Environment (IVSE). IVSE introduces the depiction of actual LCS shipboard spaces presented within a state-of-the-art gaming engine. The tasks completed within STAVE-LCS fulfill many qualification requirements for system fundamentals, operations, and maintenance.

Please note:
Many of the training systems highlighted in the LTFs were funded by Director, Surface Warfare’s (OPNAV N96) program of record, STAVE-Combat Systems (STAVE-CS), which was introduced in 2015 as a means to provide better quality training resulting in more rapid qualifications of our Sailors.
