Perfect Practice Makes Perfect | Claire Tueller | TEDxRexburg
Claire Tueller began formal piano study at age five. Now a senior at Brigham Young University - Idaho, studying Piano Performance, she is a frequent winner of local, regional and state piano awards. In October 2010, she performed the Ravel Piano Concerto #2 with the Idaho Falls Symphony as their Young Artists’ Competition winner. As a freshman, she won the student concerto festival at BYU-Idaho and performed MacDowell Piano Concerto #2 with the Symphony Orchestra. She won the state title at the Idaho Music Teacher's Association Senior Piano Competition in 2009 and the Young Artists’ Competition in 2013 & 2014, and represented Idaho at the regional competitions. She won the Northwest region title last fall and competed in the National MTNA Young Artists’ Competition in March 2015. She currently studies with Dr. Stephen Thomas at BYU-Idaho. Former piano teachers include Professor Gary Amano, Director of Piano Studies at Utah State University; Cheryl Hansen; and Joan McGann. She has performed in master classes with Barry Douglas, Alpin Hong, Stephen Beus and Arthur Greene, and attended the Aspen Music Festival and School as a student of Anton Nel during the summer 2014 session. She has recently been accepted to the Master of Music program at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California.
