Will the Society Go into Zero Carbon? Book Release and the Dialogue with Jeremy Rifkin

The global COVID-19 pandemic hit humanity really hard, while offering a unique opportunity to reset our development pathway from the second industrial revolution to the third industrial revolution. Green recovery has become a mainstream political agenda led by the European Union (EU), China and partially the United States (US) at this moment.What is encouraging is that the leading economies share a vision and aspiration to invest in “great economic paradigm shifts” and a new generation of a society-wide infrastructure.

Enabled by new communication, renewable energy and sustainable mobility technologies and infrastructure, The Green New Deal becomes compelling and executable in big cities, small towns, and rural communities. On July 7th, the Center for China and Globalization (CCG) and the Foundation of Economic Trends co-hosted an online book release of The Green New Deal: Why the fossil fuel civilization will collapse by 2028, and the bold economic plan to save life on Earth and a dialogue with the book author Jeremy Rifkin.
