Dutch Ambassador to China Wim Geerts shares the Netherlands' experience in achieving SDGs

H. E. Wim Geerts, Ambassador of Netherlands to China shared his country’s experiences on SDGs and looked forward to international cooperation at "Roundtable 2: Advancing Multi-sectoral Stakeholder Partnerships for the 2030 Agenda".

He noted that humanity consumes much more than the planet can supply. That is why public and private partners in Netherland come together and work out a national program to establish a fully circular economy by 2050, and consumption of primary raw materials should be reduced by half by 2060. To utilize raw materials in existing supply chain in a high-quality manner; to use only sustainably produced and renewable materials in case of new materials; to develop new production methods by promoting news ways of consumption. Aiming to achieve this program, it comes up with five transitional agendas: food, plastics, manufacturing industry, construction and consumer goods.
