Merry Maidens & The Pipers | Exploring a Stunning Stone Circle in Ancient Cornwall | Megalithomania

The Merry Maidens is a famous stone circle near Penzance, Cornwall, the largest in the area. It has 19 dressed stones in a perfect circle. Author and mystic T.C.Lethbridge reported that he got an electric shock when he touched certain stones in the circle and local legend states girls dancing on the sabbath were turned to stone forming the circle. Two large menhirs called The Pipers sit a quarter of a mile north. Hugh Newman, author of 'Stone Circles' (2017) explores the site and gives an alternative view of this beautiful megalithic complex.
