Megalithic Sacred Wells of Sardinia | Exploring the Bronze Age 'Sa Testa' Site | Megalithomania

Discovered in the 1930s when locals were searching for fresh water springs, Sa Testa Holy Well, is a Nuragic site where they honoured water divinities. The Bronze Age shrine dates to between the 15th and 13th centuries BC and sits just outside of the town of Olbia. It is just under 18 metres long and made of granite, trachyte and schist cut into blocks that were then carefully finished, and looks like a keyhole shape from above. The most famous Sacred Well is Santa Cristina that has stunning evidence of high technology and aligns to the Equinox sunrise, where you can experience it for yourself on the Megalithomania Sardinia tour in September 2021.
