Cosa Megalithic Fort pt.1 | Gigantic Polygonal Walls & Cart Ruts in Tuscany, Italy | Megalithomania

Part 1 of 2 exploring the megalithic acropolis of Cosa in Tuscany, Italy. It is a stunning example of early Peru-style polygonal and cyclopean construction being adapted by the Etruscans and later Romans. It is known this was an Etruscan ruled area who had a base at Orbetello on the coast where further megalithic walls are found (that may date to over 3000 - 4000 BC). It may have been built by the legendary Pelasgians, who dominated this part of Europe around this time. It has over 2 KM of massive walls with more in the interior (part 2 will cover that). Cart Ruts are also present on some of the ancient pavements, like those found in Malta and Sardinia. JJ Ainsworth also found intricate 'drill holes' suggesting use of advanced technology in its construction. Officially it was founded 273 BC by the Romans who took it from the Etruscans.
