Viktor Orbán defeated: What does this mean for Hungary?

Hungary has voted out Prime Minister Viktor Orbán after 16 years in power. In a closely watched election, pro-European challenger Péter Magyar secured a decisive win, campaigning on corruption, public services and governance.

Magyar has pledged to rebuild ties with the European Union and NATO, relationships that had come under strain during Orbán’s tenure.
