Wuthering Heights, Bernard Herrmann, 1965, Part 4/8

Part 4/8 Act 2 (Partial).

The opera, based on the first part of Emily Bronte's novel, was composed by Bernard Herrmann and his then wife, Louise Fletcher, who used Bronte's dialogue wherever possible.

The singers include Morag Beaton as Cathy (soprano), Donald Bell as Heathcliff (baritone), Joseph Ward as Edgar Linton (tenor), Elizabeth Bainbridge as Nellie Dean (mezzo-soprano), John Kitchiner as Hindley (baritone), Pamela Bowden as Isabella Linton (mezzo-soprano), David Kelly as Mr Lockwood (baritone), and Michael Rippon as Joseph (bass). This is the earliest recording of the entire opera.
