Here's a piece of Melbourne comedy history: a 1988 TV commercial for the legendary LAST LAUGH cabaret, crucible of Australian talent from the mid-70s until the 90s, founded by John Pinder and Roger Evans and sold to Rick McKenna. Here, the Laugh's 'current' show is BOB & CORALEE'S PICK A HIT - created by and starring BOB DOWNE (Mark Trevorrow) and CORALEE HOLLOW (Gina Riley, now famous for KATH & KIM). PICK A HIT played at the Laugh (an old dance hall, now A Bar Called Barry) for six months in 1988/89 - the second longest running show ever at the legendary comedy venue. The DJ host is WILD MAN COL (Peter Rowsthorn) and the spunky Pick A Hit Dancers are David Wells and Sue Ellen Alsop.
