BOB DOWNE Live at the Talk of London (1997)

BOB DOWNE (the comic creation of MARK TREVORROW) enjoyed a rip-roaring success at The Talk Of London - a superb 400-seat cabaret in the New London Theatre, Drury Lane - in 1997. He performed his JAZZY show with three brilliant British musicians: pianist LAURIE HOLLOWAY (Parky's longtime music director, who also played for Judy Garland at the Palladium), Cleo Laine's bassist, MALCOLM CREASE, and former drummer for Oscar Petersen, MARTIN DREW. The 60s-built room is a perfect fit for Bob as he sings Newley's ON A WONDERFUL DAY LIKE TODAY, a medley of ONE NOTE SAMBA/JOHNNY ONE NOTE and Bacharach's WIVES AND LOVERS.
