Jordan Peterson - How to Stop Ruminating

Jordan Peterson explains how to stop ruminating and get rid of embarrassing thoughts. Ruminations happen accidentally, involuntarily, unconsciously. To stop ruminating Jordan Peterson suggests that you should face them voluntarily and consciously. The easiest way to do this is to write down everything that you're ruminating about, exhaustively. Write down why you think they happened and what you might have done about them then and what you could do about them in the future to avoid that. So every time you have a thought you don't want to have, later, practice having that thought on purpose by writing it down and thinking about it in detail. Jordan Peterson suggests you should try that for about a month and see what happens.
