Stubby Gun Of Many Names, AKS74U - AK History Part V

In part V of our AK history series, we take a look at a little gun, with a lot of nicknames. Officially designated in Soviet-Russia as the AKS-74U, it is a compact or shortened version of the AKS-74, still firing the standard 5.45x39mm M74 rifle round. We considered just including this variant in part III but felt it did deserve its own episode. The AKS-74U is well known in Russia and very popular in the USA today too.
Just a few of its unofficial names include: Ksyukha (familiar form of a female name), 'okurok' (short cigarette), 'Suchka' (small/little bitch), and of course 'Krinkov' (often shortened to just Krink).
